Send off houseguests in style.
Pensacola is a paradise on the Gulf of Mexico. Living in such a beautiful place, it’s not uncommon for relatives to crawl out of the woodwork for a visit or eagerly accept an invitation to a wedding. Our emerald waters and white sands are a big lure, in addition to any other festivity, making a house full of guests a guarantee even after the big day is over.
There is a simple, and fun, way to mark the end of the celebration and send guests off with a smile. Hold a post-wedding brunch. At the Fish House and Atlas, we can create a custom event to complement your wedding theme, colors or other special accents to personalize your event.
A post-wedding brunch is a great time to recap the festivities and indulge in delicious dishes like Bananas Foster French Toast or Seafood Crepes. Of course it wouldn’t be brunch without a Bloody Mary (or two). Here is our favorite brunch recipe for, Sunday Brunch Shrimp Cocktail. Cheers!
Leave a comment sharing your favorite brunch item or Bloody Mary recipe and you will be automatically entered into a drawing for a $25 Sunday Brunch gift card at the Fish House.
SUNDAY BRUNCH SHRIMP COCKTAIL
Serves: 6
Chef: Billy Ballou
Ingredients:
CILANTRO PESTO
24 shrimp 1 bunch fresh cilantro 3 cloves garlic ½ cup olive oil ½ teaspoon kosher salt ½ teaspoon pepper ¼ cup pine nuts or walnuts (we used walnuts for the Sweet Tea recipe) Wash and dry cilantro. Put all ingredients except the oil into a food processor and slowly add oil until incorporated. Dredge shrimp in pesto and sauté until cooked. Serve at room temperature with cocktail sauce.
BLOODY MARY COCKTAIL SAUCE
½ cup ketchup ¼ cup vodka ¼ cup lemon juice 2 tablespoons horseradish sauce 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon Tabasco Mix all ingredients together and chill.
Chef’s Narrative:
Every restaurant I have worked in that offers a Sunday brunch serves the classic Bloody Mary. I created this to kick off our 2008 Fish House Sweet Tea Cooking Class series, and I still have people commenting how much they enjoy this recipe.

Mmm….Don’t forget the mimosa’s! My favorite!
Eggs benedict is my fave! The brunch you guys have totally rocks!
Grits a Yaya!!! Oooh and Belgiun Waffles.
My all time favorite Sunday Brunch experience was always the belgian waffle bar. Anything my imagination could come up with. I loved the live jazz band, too
Bloody Marys!
Nothing beats eggs benidict with filet mignon and hollandaise.
Grits A YaYa
Nothing is better then the Bananas Foster French Toast, if you haven’t tried it you don’t know what your missing! It’s amazing!!!!!!!
The cilantro pesto sounds awesome! I’d like to hold the bloody mary cocktail sauce and go straight to the bloody mary please
Your bar makes the best!
If I could have a plate of Grits Ya Ya and a Bloody Mary, I would think I was in Heaven..
One of my all time favorites that Jim Shirley came up with is the decadent Chocolate Shrimp! This is a must have for a romantic post wedding brunch with your out of town friends and family. I can think of no better place than to have brunch on the Fish House Deck!
Great idea, my Son is getting married in March. I would like to treat them to a Wedding Brunch as a gift. Thank you
Lindsey the mimosas are amazing not to mention they are bottomless!!! I’m there
I love, love the brunch!! lots of favorites, but if i have to choose one it will always be grits of yaya!!!
Everyone knows that mimosas are the best part if brunch.
grits a yaya for sure…or maybe the mimosa…or maybe the waffles…such a hard decision it’s all great!
Grits a Ya Ya and bloody mary or Crepes and Mimosa. Since Mardi Gras is coming up, a mardi gras party cake with mimosas would be great also.
Omgsh! Banana Fosters French Toast?! How have I missed this amazing dish all these years in Pensacola? I will definitely have to come by and try Brunch with y’all at the Fish House!! Grits A Ya Ya & Drunken chicken are awesome dishes so I’m sure any of the Brunch plates would be tasty
Oh man…you had me at “Cilantro Pesto”.
love the cilantro twist on shrimp cocktail. i also do a cilantro pesto with some green chile in the mix
I craved Grits a YaYa all the time!! Pair that with some mimosas!
Oh my goodness… Everything is so wonderful. My grandparents are visiting soon and I am making it a point to take them. My grandmother will love the waffles, as I do, and my papa, the bloody mary. I am going to try these recipes asap! Some friends of mine got married 2 days ago and are having a reception in May. Perhaps a brunch would be a nice wedding gift… Hm…
I love your idea about the Wedding Brunch. Great!!! I love it all. our favorite place to be. Thank you for all your hard work. What a treat!
We enjoy your Bloody Marys and the Shirmp and girts Ya Ya. Wonderful!
everything sounds fantastic!
Eggs Benedict is hands down my favorite brunch item. I think it would be delish to have a choice of meats…say ham or smoked pork loin, and a choice of sauces…say hollandaise or bernaise. Also, sometimes I don’t want the meat and there are plenty of vegetarians who would probably love a veggie eggs benedict with say fried green tomatoes or spinach and avocado. I’m getting hungry blogging about it!
Nothing says breakfest like Claws in Garlic
We dirve all the way from Mexico Beach for your burnch. Needsley to say we love everything.
My Fiance & I love your Brunch menu we go every Sunday morning! Marti’s favorite is the Benedict Supreme ( it’s out of this world) & not to mention the he is a sucker for your spicy Bloody-Marys! My favorite is definitely Bananas Foster & the bottomless mimosas! Your restaurant is by far the best in town… We can’t wait to host our rehearsal dinner there! Thank you Fish House
Just moved here from San Antonio, so I have not had the opportunity to enjoy your brunch yet. We hope to get there soon. I have heard many good things about your restaurant. Have family coming from Ohio soon, and The Fish House is on our bucket list for their visit. Thanks.
Grits A Ya Ya!
Mimosas and anything on your brunch menu! its all good!
I Love some Grits a ya ya, but I cant forget about waffles, so I say Belgium Waffles made with cheese and sausage and topped with Grits a Ya Ya!!!!!
Best Bloody Marys in Pensacola!
Eggs Ponchatrain, because WE KNOW FOOD on the Gulf Coast!
Bacon and Cheesy Eggs and Biscuiits with Jelly and MIMOSAS!!
Grits-A-YaYa has been my absolute favorite for years, no question about it. Pair the dish with a bottomless mimosa and I’m couldn’t be happier.
Every recipe is a winner!
Stuffed French Toast
I didn’t see crabcakes listed yet … I love them. Everything else sounds so delicious. Would love to try Grits-A-YaYa!
Egg’s Benedict or some version of that always grabs my attention on Brunch Menus… OF course deciding between classic and emerald coast with the lump crab is always hard.
